The Red and Blue armchair was designed by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld back in 1918, and Cassina began producing it in 1973. A symbol of the neoplastic movement, the armchair represents a radical departure from the conventional concept of seating; the elimination of padding and decorative fabrics reduces the piece to its pure geometric essence.
